After moving into our house with two sofas, it became clear that this living room was meant for a more streamlined sectional like the Gray from Interior Define. I was able to customize the design by choosing the material, length, and arm height. It took about 8 weeks to arrive, but was well worth the wait because we are loving it! Especially happy that there’s now enough room for everyone to snuggle together :)
Once we had the new sofa in place, I moved onto updating our TV situation. I had my eye on the Samsung Frame TV for a while, so as soon as it went on sale, we jumped on it. The picture quality is such an improvement from our last TV, and it’s flush-mounted to the wall so it looks just like a framed photo – so much prettier to look at!
The white media console is the Besta from Ikea. I was considering going with something that had a little more detail, maybe cane door fronts, but the minimalist in me won. I love it’s subtlety, letting me decorate and redecorate the top like a mantle whenever I want a change. This piece is also customizable – I chose cabinets on either end, a center cabinet and drawer above. Luckily Ryan put it together for us, but I’m pretty sure that was the last Ikea assembly he’ll ever sign up for ;)
I fell in love with this very low, round, boho-inspired coffee table from West Elm. It felt like the perfect way to soften all the straight edges in the room. Its curves also play nicely with the circular rug and mirror in the entryway.
This corner ended up being just big enough to add a little extra seating, so I was happy to find this leather Poang chair on OfferUp for just $50. Obi’s the only one who really uses it, but I really like the shape and how it works with the space.
Since our last furniture layout kind of blocked these big windows, I can really appreciate the light and breeze that flows through now. The chaise by the window is obviously everyone’s favorite place to hang.
The fam and I love spending time in this room now. It’s comfy, cozy, bright and airy. In case you missed it, here is what this space looked like when we first moved in, and here were the plans I had for our update. Let me know what you think!
