palm springs

Last summer, a few friends and I got together for a girls’ weekend in Palm Springs. This is the casa we booked, complete with mid-century modern fabulousness. I wish I had taken better photos, but at the time this blog wasn’t even a thought yet… So I borrowed a few images from the realtor.

Cool and simple bedrooms, chic monochromatic wall-art, a sprawling patio leading to the pool, and nonstop central air made this place an unforgettable dream spot.

I loved it. How could you not? With so much white, this space was bright even with the shades drawn. Clean and airy, despite the dry, oven-like conditions just outside. It was eerily quiet, like the desert heat had a way of silencing everything. The perfect remedy (and only activity planned) was floating deadweight in the pool, soaking up Vitamin D and sipping frosty beverages.

As a bonus, two of our girls are master chef sisters, Yui and Yuko. I keep insisting they take on their own catering biz, but until then, I’m enjoying their kitchen talents exclusively. We ate well and slept in, lounged and laughed at life. A few crazies even practiced outdoor hot yoga (I was definitely not one of them)…

Sadly, the lazy weekend ended too abruptly as Sunday crept up. I wasn’t looking forward to the 3 hour drive back to SD and it’s never easy saying goodbye to my LA girlies. But we had a blast and new plans are in order!
